Experiencing hurdles in life such as challenging relationships, family life issues and concerns about the direction of your career are normal, but can leave you feeling anxious, depressed, frustrated or angry. So many of our problems come down to not having enough insight into how our minds work; what we want, what we fear, why we act the way we do, and why we are overwhelmed by certain feelings.
I believe that every person who seeks counseling has their own answers to their unique situations and my job is to facilitate finding those answers. I am passionate about guiding others through their struggles and assisting them in gaining self-knowledge towards finding solutions to their life challenges. I assist individuals and families with achieving healthier relationships, communication, and effective coping skills. I respect and honor the courage that it takes to enter counseling and am committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where healing and growth can take place.
During the past thirteen years, I have worked as a clinical social worker in schools, medical settings and in private practice, where I have provided both individual and group therapy to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, family conflict, child abuse and domestic violence.
I assist my clients with various therapeutic approaches, including a combination of cognitive behavioral, strength based/solution focused, client centered and EMDR (specialized treatment for PTSD and emotional difficulties caused by traumatic events such as combat stress, assaults and natural disasters or past traumatic childhood events) and Neurofeedback.
Therapy can be a life-changing experience for those who are ready for positive change.
